To illustrate the Animal Store Alphabet Book, Rebecca painted 26 letters and an opening and closing image, for a total of 28 paintings. Each one is 30″ x 30″, which adds up to a whopping 70 feet of paintings when you line them up side by side.
Where could we possibly hang such a huge collection? Answer: the Hope Institute Learning Academy on Chicago’s near west side. The Hope Institute Learning Academy (HILA) is an innovative elementary school that offers parents and families a choice of an exceptional public education in a school that values, celebrates, and supports students to reach their optimum level of success, including children with Autism and developmental disabilities. It’s a fantastic place for learning that offers an inclusive and supporting environment.
All 26 of the original letter paintings from the Animal Store Alphabet Book are now brightening the halls of HILA for all the students to see. We couldn’t think of a better place to share our special version of the alphabet.
